DESCRIPTION
General description
1-Dodecanol, a fatty alcohol, is a long chain aliphatic alcohol.[1] Solid-liquid phase diagrams of its binary mixtures with various other fatty alcohols (1-tetradecanol, 1-hexadecanol and 1-octadecanol) have been evaluated by employing high pressure microscopy and DSC (Differential scanning calorimetry).[2] It undergoes oxidation in the presence of multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) supported MoO3 (Mo/MWCNTs) and potassium containing Mo/MWCNTs (K/Mo/MWCNTs) catalysts to afford 1-dodecanal.[3] Its oxidation in the presence of Ru and Pt based carbon catalysts has been reported.[1]
Application
1-Dodecanol may be employed as an extraction reagent in the pipette vial dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction method coupled with HPCL studies.[4]
