DESCRIPTION
General description
Boron trichloride-methanol is a derivatizing reagent. It is basically used in the esterification of fatty acids to fatty acid methyl ester (FAME).
Application
Boron trichloride-Methanol may be used in converting linoleate to methyl linoleate for understanding the effect of palmitic acid on oxidation of oleic acid.[1]
